Cow milk cheese

The milk for our cheeses comes from cows that feed mainly on grass and herbs on the pasture in summer. In winter, the animals are fed summer-scented hay harvested from the same grassland on the farm.

Energetic feed is fed very sparingly. The animals are fed traditionally, as silage-free raw milk is the most original form of milk production. The natural components of the raw milk are thus preserved in the cheese. Both IP milk and Bio-Suisse certified milk are processed at Gohl. 80 dairy farmers from the region, 30 of which are certified organic, supply the IP and organic milk for our hard and soft cheeses every day.

For generations, the famous EMMENTALER AOP has been produced in the Gohl according to the old recipe, in classic mild or organic quality, and for some years now the excellent DE GOHL - Swiss Mountain Flower cheese, a creamy raw milk cheese very similar in format and taste to Gruyère. Under the SPITZEBÄRG brand, the Gohl cheese dairy also produces excellent white mold soft cheeses.
